This evening I had a little time to countersink several holes in the rear side of the center forward spar. This area has flush rivets installed because a steel plate is eventually bolted to the HS forward spar in this area. The steel plate is used to attach the vertical stabilizer.

Below is a photo of the rivet holes that I’ve countersunk. Unlike the photo above, I chose to keep a few fasteners in areas not affected by the vertical stabilizer mounting plate to remain as standard universal head rivets. In particular the outer rivets on the upper edge of the spar.
