My progress for this evening included lots of filing on the horizontal stabilizer doubler (HS-3101). When I had the 0.125 piece of aluminum cut, it was purposely made to be slightly oversized. As you can see in the photo below, it doesn’t quite fit within the rear spar.
Three hours later…and sore hands!
Well, maybe not quite three hours but it sure felt like it. So after much filing the HS-3101 doubler was made to fit. Some additional tweaking and filing might be needed as I get closer to the final installation. But for tonight, this is good progress.
