Good day, today I’m working on the right fuel tank skin and getting the stiffeners fitted. I started out today with drawing the stiffener location lines. I don’t know if I mentioned this in my previous post when I was fitting the stiffeners on the left tank, but the location of the stiffeners is different on the Sport Wing than it is on the RV-4 wing, so be mindful of that when you’re studying your various drawings.
- RV-4 measurements (6 7/8 and 11 7/8)
- Sport Wing measurements (6 1/2 and 11 1/4)

Again, as previously discussed in the left fuel tank stiffener blog, when locating the individual stiffeners, I found the middle of each bay, and marked that. Then I marked the middle of each stiffener and from there I basically aligned the two and drilled the stiffener to the skin from that point. I also pre-drilled the stiffener rivet holes.

Once the stiffeners were fitted, the deburring began. Enough said…Ugh…

And that’s all I have for today. I apologize that there are not more pictures, but that’s how this build session went. Not a lot of visual progress here, just a lot of drilling and deburring.
That’s all for today folks! Please comment. I love to hear from my readers. Thanks again for coming along for this ride, you make my work worthwhile.
