Right Wing Fuel Tank Skin Prep

October 16, 2024 by admin Leave a Comment

Good day, today I’m continuing with the right fuel tank skin prep. More of the same here today; using scotchbrite to scuff up the surfaces really well, then thoroughly cleaning it all with naphtha. Scuffing these large tank skins is no fun, whatsoever. Let’s be honest, this is a terrible part of the build. My hands are killing me!

After what seems to be all evening…I don’t know how long I’ve been at this now, but I’ve got all the parts scuffed and cleaned. In the picture below, you can see that I also prepped all of the lower skin surface stiffeners.

Another short post for today, but not a lot of visual progress to share here.

That’s all for today folks! Please comment. I love to hear from my readers.  Thanks again for coming along for this ride, you make my work worthwhile.
