Good day! Today I’m taking a break from sealant work. I will start drilling the nutplates which attach the fuel tank to the wing spar. I don’t know how many there are but it’s something like 100 per side. As all of these holes are already pre-drilled from when I match drilled the fuel tank skin to the spar, this part is really just drilling strictly for nutplates.
The only really tricky part is the most inboard nutplate holes. As you can see in the images below, these are really close to the spar beams.


I used a nutplate drilling jig for all of these holes. It’s the simplest solution for getting the nutplate holes consistently drilled.

As I’m going…I’m realizing that this is another one of those very repetitive tasks…LOL!
