This evening I was able to begin the assembly of the rudder structural frame. I began by fitting the Rudder Horn (R-405PD) onto the rudder spar and bottom rib.
Here is a picture as viewed from the bottom.
Once you have the Rudder Horn Brace (R-710) in place, you will want to mark where the pre-drilled holes of the bottom rib will be, and I also drew a line along the lower edge of the R-704 Bottom Rib flange, which will help me better visualize where it is when I remove the rudder horn brace in the next picture.
As you can see in the photo below, edge distance with these few rivets is going to be critical, so if you need to trim your Rudder Horn Brace (R-710) just be careful and watch out for this.
The next step was to get the Rudder Bottom Attach Strips (R-716) in place and drilled. This step is pretty straight forward without much in the way for challenges.
After getting the Rudder Horn Brace location figured out, I got the tip rib located and clecoed in place.
And finally, with the rudder skin temporarily in place, I finally have some awesome visual progress! This is a good place to call it a night.
Please comment, I love to hear from my readers. Thanks again for coming along for this ride, you make my work worthwhile.
